Icynene® is a ½-pound or light-density spray foam insulation.
Icynene is filled with tiny open cells or air pockets. These cells help give Icynene its great insulating properties, help it remain flexible and stay in contact with surrounding materials for a tight air-seal.
Icynene can be used in new home construction or for renovations - in walls, ceilings, attics, crawlspaces, over garages and in many other places.

After installation Icynene is soft, flexible and very light.
When sprayed it expands to 100 times its initial volume within seconds to completely fill the space where it's applied. Any extra Icynene material is easily shaved off for a surface that's ready to be covered by drywall or approved thermal/fire barrier wall materials.

How do energy savings of up to 50% per month sound? The big advantage of Icynene is that it expands 100 times its original volume within seconds of being sprayed, filling the surrounding space to create an air-seal or air barrier.
This air barrier helps minimize random air leakage, which causes up to 50% of the energy loss in a home. Using less energy, your home stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It's savings you can take to the bank!
Icynene also enables homes to meet local requirements for R-value in walls, ceilings and attics. Click here to estimate your savings.

1. Icynene will not contribute to poor indoor air. There's no off-gassing because it's water-based. Some insulation materials use blowing agents, which off-gas over time or contain HFCs (that can contribute to Global Warming).
2. Icynene will create an air barrier to reduce outdoor pollutants and allergens from getting inside. Used in conjunction with mechanical ventilation Icynene can make indoor air healthier than what you breathe outside.
3. Icynene will help minimize the flow of random airborne moisture entering your home. Airborne moisture can condense on surfaces within the home and contribute to mold growth. Learn more about the role Icynene can play in making your home healthier.

Rim joists, around windows and doors, crawlspaces, over garages, around skylights and electrical boxes are just a few of the awkward areas in a home that are difficult or impossible to insulate effectively with conventional insulation. But not with Icynene:
- Icynene expands to fill every space and maintain an air barrier against lost energy and outdoor pollutants and airborne moisture.
- Icynene sticks to surrounding surfaces. No need to worry about gaps or spaces in irregular shaped areas. Unlike other insulations Icynene won't shrink, settle or sag.
- Icynene is perfect for cathedral ceiling applications and unvented attics. In fact, Icynene is one of the few insulations approved for use in an unvented attic application, which can offer additional protection against storms.
